Express Entry
Express Entry is a points-based immigration system introduced by the Canadian government in January 2015 to manage the selection of skilled workers for permanent residency in Canada. It is designed to attract highly qualified individuals who can contribute to the country's economy and society.
Below are a few points to keep in mind when applying for express entry;
Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for Express Entry, candidates must meet the requirements of one of the three federal economic immigration programs:
Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP): For skilled workers with foreign work experience in managerial, professional, or technical occupations.
Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP): For skilled tradespersons with recent work experience in a skilled trade.
Canadian Experience Class (CEC): For individuals with at least one year of skilled work experience in Canada.
Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) Score: Upon submission of the profile, candidates are assigned a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score based on factors such as age, education, work experience, language proficiency, and adaptability. The CRS score determines a candidate's rank in the Express Entry pool.
Invitations to Apply (ITAs): The Canadian government conducts regular Express Entry draws, inviting candidates with the highest CRS scores to apply for permanent residency. Candidates who receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) have a limited time (usually 60 days) to submit their application for permanent residence.
